PHOTO ALBUM

From the Unofficial Holland America Line collection, a set of on board photos from a small album in which is written, "Mabel G. Brown 1900." Likely from a transatlantic voyage taken by Miss Brown that year. The scenes show passengers and crew. The passenger spaces are both the better classes and steerage.

To point out the obvious......notice the proper hats and finery of Miss Brown's fellow travelers; the Stewards, the clothes, the deck chairs......Then notice steerage; the laundry, sitting on the decking, and the clothing, not as fancy. Ahh, travel at the turn of the 20th century!

In memory of Miss Brown, whoever she may have been.....thank you for some wonderful photos.
